I headed back to the province again last Saturday.
This time, there were around 70 of us. My classmates from Canada went house to house to urge our classmates (from three sections) to show up. It worked.
I could barely recognize some of them, save for a few who were in my class. It was fun when we were all re-introduced with the help of a classmate-now-politician whose job it seems, was to remember all our names, even the hyphenated ones.
Some of my classmates are now on their second, third marriages. Some are widows.
"Mag-asawa ka na," (Get married already) was the comment I mostly got. Oh, and the usual ribbing about my weight.
I went home before it got dark. I drove 600 kilometers in a day. That's a feat.
It was worth it.
